Brookfield, the developer of Manhattan West, briefed River Film to make a film for the Manhattan West Sales Center to attract new retail and commercial tenants. The aim was a new approach for the real estate sector: a free-flowing film that explains and moves viewers and appeals to a very wide audience.
This is River Film’s most successful production. It has won seven awards and shows what the company specialises in, all in one film.
Real estate films can explain, express and evoke emotion. For Manhattan West, River Film used a free-flowing, documentary-style approach.
The client did not want a montage or a fly-through. They wanted something credible and genuine that showed the real life of the area. River Film avoided a conventional talking-heads format and instead used short, strong testimonials, snippets and soundbites to create an authentic feel.
The film draws on sector experts and local residents to show the lifestyle and experiences on offer. A genuine performance from an everyday person adds credibility and life that a studio could not create. The team went to considerable effort to find these testimonials.
The project represents River Film’s work as well as anything: technical expertise combined with a free-flowing creative and narrative approach. The team is very proud of it.
